About:

Sudhangsu uses thickly layered pigments red, whiffs of blue and chrome yellow-to make way for cavernous black brown areas that create sudden chasms on the picture plane, and suggest structures and then go down under the surging groundswell of the tempered white that rushes like a deluge absence of colors devours the chromatic range that he so sensitively uses. He likes to brave colors at their most naked and exciting. He shows a particular liking for red and black, which he can make vibrate with some ecstasy. And in it too are the harmonious organization of aspects, emotions, suggestions, thoughts, even illusions excited by themes which at first are vague and yet which, by and by, gradually attract and centre the artist’s sensations, both vivid and quiescent.
